Welcome to the Mathematics Department!
Welcome to the Mathematics Department!
Mathematics is about studying numbers and their patterns and using them to solve real-world applications. At LP, we offer students math courses that prepare them for post-secondary education (e.g., universities or colleges) and careers. In grades 9 and 10, math students are placed in the de-streamed equitable and inclusive classrooms to learn math. In grades 11 and 12, students have the option to select math courses that prepare them for university or college.
In each math course, LP teachers use a variety of high-impact instructional practices to try to reach all students in the classroom. Differentiated instructions, UDL, and tiered teaching approaches will also be incorporated into the classroom whenever needed so that learning will always happen for all students.
